Artistic glass artisans for three generations
Vetrate Artistic Grassi was founded in Milan in 1946 by the will of Florindo Grassi and today represents one of the most authoritative realities in the field of artisanal artistic glass. Over the course of more than 80 years of activity, the company has created valuable works for public and private clients in Italy and around the world, collaborating with internationally renowned architects and artists. From the Milan headquarters in Via Mecenate, master craftsmen design and manufacture sacred stained glass windows, profane stained glass windows, restorations and sandblasted decorations with the same care and dedication handed down from generation to generation.
Grassi Artistic Stained Glass
Vetrate Artistic Grassi is an artisanal company founded in Milan in 1946 by Florindo Grassi, who was joined in 1957 by his son Alessandro. Today, the historic company is led by Barbara Grassi and her son-in-law Antonello and Floresta, who carry on the tradition with the same artisanal rigor as the origins.
Over the years, the company has collaborated with internationally renowned architects and artists, including Caccia Dominioni, Capogrossi, Niemeyer, Pomodoro and Sottsass jr., consolidating a technical and artistic heritage recognized on five continents. Its stained glass windows are found in places of worship, private residences and public spaces in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
The workshop in Via Mecenate in Milan is open to visits by appointment: anyone who wishes to discover up close the process of making artistic stained glass windows can observe each phase directly, from the initial sketch to the finished work.
