Restoration of artistic stained glass

Vitrate Artistic Grassi di Milano specializes in the restoration of stained glass windows damaged or deteriorated by time. Thanks to an experience gained in more than 80 years of craftsmanship, the company's master craftsmen are able to intervene on any type of window, restoring its original quality with rigorous methods that respect the work.

There are no damages that cannot be addressed: breaks, oxidation of the lead profiles, detachment of the grisaille paint, structural deterioration of the frame — every problem is carefully analyzed and solved through a personalized intervention plan. The restoration process follows the same artisanal techniques used for the creation of new works: hand cutting, lead binding, tin soldering and, where necessary, remaking of the pictorial interventions with vitrifiable grisaille fired at great fire. Before each intervention, the company provides free technical advice and a detailed quote without obligation, to allow the customer to evaluate with full awareness the work to be carried out.
